Location for the first VizThink Conference
July 22, 2007 – 9:20 am
We’ve made a lot of progress in the last few weeks and we’re pretty excited about the possibilities for this community. Selecting a location for our first get together was an important milestone. We considered locations all across the country including locations like San Diego, Portland, Chicago, Austin, New Orleans, and Washington D.C. In the end, San Francisco won out because of the proximity to many of the facilitators we were considering for the event.
San Francisco’s an awesome town with a great culture, great food, and lots to do, and we’re going to be staying in the heart of it all. We’ve selected the Westin Market Street as the location to launch this community. The facility is absolutely beautiful and it’s located in the heart of the city with easy access to great muesums (such as MOMA) , the trolley line, and, of course, tons of great restaurants. Here are some great pictures from the hotel:
The event will be a portion of the last week of January, so block your calendars. We’ll give you more information on exact dates and registration information in a post later this week.
Can you believe it? We’ve just gotten started with VizThink 08 and we’ve already got to begin thinking about the next events. In a few months, we’re going to have to look at locations for VizThink Europe and VizThink 09. In any case, we’ll be sure to get your feedback on cities where you think it would be good to meet.
See you all in San Francisco!
